Shine On Dog Review: Benebone Wishbone Durable Dog Chew

In a household with four dogs ranging in ages from 13 years down to 8 months of age, I have spent a significant amount of money and time trying to find a chew bone/toy that works well for the masses. Over the years, I have tried bullysticks, yack chews, every kind of antler imaginable, nylabones, smoked knuckles and even rawhides and I always find myself coming back to Benebone Wishbone Durable Dog chews for my crew.

The Product: Benebone Wishbone Durable Dog Chew Toy

Benebone Wishbone Dog Chews are made out of durable nylon and are made right here in New York, USA. The Wishbone chew's design actually makes it easy for dogs to "grasp" while chewing and it comes in three different flavors, bacon, chicken and peanut butter. It also comes in five different sizes from Tiny all the way up to Giant.

Pros:

Again, going back to having a household of four dogs, I have every type of chewer under one roof. From the "Eh, if the mood strikes me, I might nibble on this for a bit" occasional chewer, to "MUST FIND CHEWY. MUST HAVE CHEWY!" the moment I walk in the door, daily chewer.

These chews seem to "fit the bill" for all of my dogs, regardless if they just want a nibble or if they are going to spend a solid hour attempting to chew through one, they hold up remarkably well. When I say hold up, I seem to purchase them every three to four months. That being said, when I do buy new ones, I always buy them four at a time, as I get one for each of my dogs. I will also mention, I order the Large size for my pack of three Border Collies and a Miniature American Shepherd.

Another big pro for me is that for a chew, they are incredibly clean compared to other bones and chews I have tried. These don't leave stains on my carpet or blankets, nor do I have an issue with my dogs getting upset stomachs after chewing on them *knock on wood*.

Cons:

I'll be completely honest, when you give your dog a new one of these chews, make sure you are upwind of it. They do have a pretty strong smell the first few times they are chewed but I will say it isn't nearly as bad as fresh pig hooves! After a few good chews, the smell does lessen unless your dog likes to chew on their bones in your lap. Then you might get a wiff of it.

For me personally, the biggest con with these bones, is if you forget to pick them up before going to bed at night. I don't know how many times I have stumbled to the bathroom half asleep and either stepped on or stubbed my toe on one of these bad boys. Let me be clear, THEY HURT!

Would I recommend this product?

I absolutely recommend these chews and have been giving them to my crew for almost five years. I like how durable they are and that they are a very "clean" chew for my dogs to have when we are in the house!

Stars:

While I wasn't sure if I wanted to give products a "score" or not, as a consumer I tend to like rating systems and since I like stars, I will be rating products from 1 to 5 stars! With the Benebone Wishbone Dog Chew, I'm giving them a solid 4 1/2 stars!
